Stealth Advocacy: Talking the Walk

March 9, 2022 By dmenk

Join us to examine your ideas on how to embed advocacy in what you do in the classroom every day. We’ll cover student centered approaches to curriculum writing, your work with decision makers, how to change your language to fit different situations, and what allows you to be the best music teacher you can be. Learn how to change the discussion and maintain or reposition yourself as the knowledgeable, caring, and creative teacher that you are. Here is a chance to test your thoughts, collaborate with colleagues, and make plans to engage with families and students in new ways.

Date and Time:  July 14, 2022 – 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

An educational collaboration by WSMA and PBS Wisconsin Education

Re/sound: Songs of Wisconsin
In a state-wide survey and listening sessions with music educators, we learned about the need for current, authentic, culturally diverse resources, as well as support in teaching with and about music from different cultures. This multimedia collection for general music programs serving grades 4-8 includes video interviews with Wisconsin musicians, performances, audio files, and educator engagement guides designed to help activate the media with learners.
