Participate in a musical activity highlighting innovative work in middle school music, be provided with a structure and templates for engaging all teachers, review a powerful example of action research in a middle school exploratory music classroom and participate in discussion of how paying deliberate attention to all content areas can enrich professional learning. Attendees will hear viewpoints of not only a music educator, but also a building principal.

Instructors: Billy Brandt and Gereon Methner
William (Billy) Brandt is currently the director of choirs at Freedom High School, where he directs the vocal and handbell ensembles. As a writer, Brandt has published many works both musically and professionally; with premieres of his works taking place across the world.
Dr. Gereon Methner is currently a middle school principal and director of secondary curriculum and instruction. He has taught French, Technology Education, Teacher Education, and English as a Second Language. His passions include teaching and learning, canoeing and being a father.
