Matt Brooks began his duties as Program Manager for Wisconsin School Music Association in November 2022.
Prior to joining WSMA, Matt was employed as a Digital Sheet Music Specialist at Musicnotes and sales associate at Heid Music in Madison. Matt also performed as a showband guitarist aboard three different cruise ships – the Norwegian Jade, Regent Seven Seas Mariner and Royal Caribbean Grandeur of the Seas. Before setting sail on those cruise ship contracts, Matt taught private guitar and bass lessons at Matt Burk Music Studio in Allen, Texas. Matt is an active member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Madison, where he plays bass and guitar in the contemporary worship band.
A graduate of Oconomowoc High School, Matt earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from the University of North Texas in 2014.
