We will look at how the Wisconsin state standards are organized and compare them to the National Standards and the 1997 Wisconsin Music Standards. We will examine the new areas of Secondary General, Connecting, Technology and use with CMP, as well as ways these standards are already being implemented. Then using a piece of music you choose, you will learn how to write your own plans incorporating the new standards. Lesson plans will be shared and if chosen, will be featured on the WMEA Standards website for other teachers to follow. (Workshop fees include lunch on Saturday.)
