Tamara Mouw is the Director of Teaching and Learning for the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. In this role, she partners with educators, schools, families, community members, nations, internal and external governmental agencies, and professional organizations to provide leadership, professional learning, and resources to promote equity and advance innovative learning for all students to graduate community, college, and career ready. Previously, Mouw served in the department of curriculum and instruction with the Madison Metropolitan School District and as a reading specialist, coach, and English teacher with the Kimberly Area School District. Mouw’s passion is in equity education where she works to interrupt inequitable practices, examine biases, and create inclusive multicultural school environments for adults and children in order to ensure equally high outcomes for all throughout Wisconsin.
