Position Description:
The position of WSMA Bookkeeping Manager serves Wisconsin School Music Association (WSMA) and the partner organizations, Wisconsin Music Educators Association (WMEA), and Wisconsin Foundation for School Music (WFSM), housed at Wisconsin Center for Music Education (WCME) in Waunakee, Wisconsin. This position is designed to evolve with the needs of members, the organizations, and the position holder.
This position works closely with the Executive Director to ensure all bookkeeping, human resource systems, legal, insurance, and compliance related documentation are in place and current at all times. Note that a criminal background check is required for all employees and this position will work primarily onsite at our Waunakee offices.
Relationships:
This position reports to the WSMA Executive Director for all work assignments, performance and review. This position will work closely with the Program Director, Communications Director, all other members of the WSMA staff and board leadership volunteers. This position frequently interacts with Wisconsin school business office personnel, music educators, and building level administrators related to invoicing and accounts. This position is also a direct contact with our accountants, investment representatives, bank, credit card processors, health insurance representatives, and others with connections to our financial and human resource systems.
Position Type/Work Year:
This is an ongoing 52-week per year full-time budget-based position.

Compensation:
This is a salaried position with a pay rate of $50,000 to $54,000 per year

Qualifications:
- Software Experience
- Quickbooks Online and Desktop (Required)
- Google Workspace (formerly G Suite)
- Filemaker Pro Databases
- Formstack
- WordPress Website Builder
- Attention to detail, confidentiality and integrity are essential in this role
- Experience with providing administrative and technology support to members/customers and internal staff
- Ability to utilize spreadsheets for organizing data, data analysis, calculations, and charting
- Ability to utilize text/Word documents for communication, mail merge, and collaborative editing
- Understanding of database structure, relational tables and objects, and use of database for data entry and reporting
- Ability to learn new technologies and process information quickly
- Ability to adapt to changes in timelines and sequences
- Ability to work under pressure
- Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal communication
Association Events:
- Expectation to work at the WSMA State Marching Band event annually (mid-October Saturday)
- Expectation to work at Conference & Honors events annually (last week and weekend in October)
- Expectation to work evenings and weekends for full board and committee meetings
- Flexible hours are necessary during event weeks and time of heavy workflow
