New Snap Raise! Sponsorship

WSMA thanks Snap! Raise for its official corporate sponsorship in support of music education programming throughout our state, and beyond! Snap! Raise, known for its online fundraising platform, enables music educators to access its tools directly through WSMA web-based systems, and begin to develop fundraising campaigns!

 

Music Teacher New to Your School?

If a music teacher is new to your school, they will need to update their account portal profile in order to update our records. If you are a primary contact/account portal admin, you can also add them to the contact list in your school’s profile.

2025 Tariff Impacts on K-12 Music Education

In early 2025, the Trump administration enacted a series of sweeping tariffs designed to recalibrate U.S. trade relationships and stimulate domestic manufacturing. While positioned as an economic safeguard, these tariffs are having a direct and measurable impact on K-12 schools, especially in the performing arts. Comparable letters were sent on May 23, 2025 to school administrators/business office personnel and music educators from Laurie Fellenz, WSMA Executive Director, that highlights what is expected currently and initial recommended actions to consider. >>Read More

New Edition Available Now!

An educational collaboration by WSMA and PBS Wisconsin Education

Re/sound: Songs of Wisconsin
In a state-wide survey and listening sessions with music educators, we learned about the need for current, authentic, culturally diverse resources, as well as support in teaching with and about music from different cultures. This multimedia collection for general music programs serving grades 4-8 includes video interviews with Wisconsin musicians, performances, audio files, and educator engagement guides designed to help activate the media with learners.
