The Exemplary Performance Recognition Project expands recognition of outstanding student performers at the WSMA State Solo & Ensemble Festival. State festival adjudicators identify exceptional performances at each of the state festival campuses through a two step process: nomination and final selection. Students who are selected for the award receive a certificate from WSMA in recognition of their outstanding performance at the State Festival.
Step 1. Nomination
Throughout the day, adjudicators have an opportunity to nominate students whose performance was truly exceptional – beyond what is typically expected for this age group.
Step 2. Final Selection
At the end of the day, each adjudicator selects the most exceptional performances to receive the Exemplary Performance Award from among those nominated.
Notification: All nominations and final award winners will be displayed on the WSMA website on the Tuesday afternoon following the festival. Award certificates will be mailed directly to the school for distribution.
