This hands-on workshop presents the Comprehensive Musicianship through Performance (CMP) model of music teaching and performance. Participants will explore the points of the model (selection, analysis, strategies, outcomes, and/or assessment), participate in demonstration rehearsals using CMP, and will explore teaching plans implementing these points in a music classroom.
This professional development is designed to give autonomy and agency to music teachers to use the CMP model as it best meets the current needs of their students. The goal is to empower teachers to be their own spokesperson for CMP in their classrooms. Studio teachers, elementary and secondary general music teachers, band, choir and orchestra teachers are all welcome.
