WSMA Adjudicator Workshops

WSMA is committed to providing the best festival experience for students, teachers, and parents. Maintaining a team of highly-trained adjudicators is central to this commitment.

Why Attend a Workshop?

These essential workshops offer a valuable opportunity for professional development while ensuring a positive and consistent experience for all participants. You will:

  • Refresh Skills: Review current adjudication best practices.
  • Review Expectations: Ensure consistency in feedback and scoring.
  • Make an Impact: Help shape the development of young Wisconsin musicians.

2025-2026 Workshop Schedule

Most workshops are held virtually to accommodate varying schedules and locations. The only in-person option is held in conjunction with the Wisconsin State Music Conference.

How to Register

For New Adjudicators:

  1. Submit the Adjudicator Registration Form.
  2. WSMA will email you in late summer with workshop registration details.

For Active Adjudicators:

  • If you are due for a workshop, you will receive a notification email from WSMA in late summer.
  • To register for any workshop on the schedule, Click Here!

Note: Festival availability forms are sent to all active adjudicators via email by October 1st each fall.

An educational collaboration by WSMA and PBS Wisconsin Education

Re/sound: Songs of Wisconsin
In a state-wide survey and listening sessions with music educators, we learned about the need for current, authentic, culturally diverse resources, as well as support in teaching with and about music from different cultures. This multimedia collection for general music programs serving grades 4-8 includes video interviews with Wisconsin musicians, performances, audio files, and educator engagement guides designed to help activate the media with learners.
